The Life of Shock Watson - The End... for now

At the beginning of 2010, I decided to try out an experiment. I wanted to create a comic. The goal was to see if I could create a character, write a story and illustrate one page a week. All of these goals were accomplished to varying degrees of success.

I wanted to challenge myself in a way I've never been challenged before. I ] attempted to simplify my drawing style so that I could complete pages faster and found myself heavily inspired by the look of Herge's Tintin in this regard. I wanted the story to examine the passage of time on an individual as well as the addictive nature most people seem to possess.

As the Shock Watson story wound down, I realized that page 50 was a natural stopping point. I considered continuing the story as a weekly strip but my free time is largely occupied by a site I launched this year - Dream Cancel. I plan to return to Shock Watson at some point. He's near and dear to my heart and I will miss him until that return.

Please keep an eye out for the CBR I'll release as soon as I finish the painted cover. Thanks for reading Shock Watson and I hope you enjoyed it. If you haven't read it, you can read it page-by-page here or check out the entire story as one continuous page here.

I'd like to give special thanks to my wife, Emily Cheng. Without her belief in my drawings, faith in my ability and support of this idea, Shock Watson would not exist. Words cannot describe how important she is to me.
